The Restaurant Opportunities Center of New Orleans (ROC-NOLA) is a restaurant workers' organization dedicated to improving working conditions for restaurant workers throughout the New Orleans area. ROC-NOLA provides members with free restaurant industry training classes, resume building assistance, help with job placement, and trainings on knowing your rights at work.

We are currently conducting surveys of restaurant workers throughout the area to learn more about their experiences in order to learn how to best support their needs. The results of this survey project will be used to help us develop our training programs and more, in order to build public recognition of restaurant workers' neverending contributions to the city of New Orleans and its surrounding areas.

The next Bartender Training (including an extra seminar on wine service) begins this Wednesday, November 19th @ Finnegan's Easy Bar, 717 St. Peter Street in the French Quarter. Spaces are still available, so get in touch if you would like to register for this course.

If you would like to consider becoming a trainer in our program, we offer generous stipends to qualified restaurant workers to teach courses, so definitely give us a call if you need to make extra holiday cash and would like to get involved with an organization working for you and your interests in this city!

How to Get Involved:

Any current or former restaurant worker, worker interested in entering the restaurant industry, or relative of a restaurant worker can become a member of ROC-NOLA. If you're interested in becoming a member, please contact us to sign up for one of our 3 weekly orientations that are held throughout the area. Orientations last about one hour and are a great way to introduce yourself to what the organization can do for you.

ROC-NOLA is always seeking volunteers! If you have special skills or just want the opportunity to get involved in a way we have not mentioned here, please come check out one of our weekly orientation meetings, every Thursday at 1pm in our offices.
